Aitor Throup and the rock group Kasabian first met in Paris in the summer of 2010. The band, (formed in Leicester in 1997) and the designer were both invited to the French capital by Umbro, for an event to mark the reveal and launch of Throup’s England Away kit. Throup was already an admirer of the group’s music and approach, with their roots and understanding of tradition as prominent as their forward-thinking and at times experimental output. He instantly clicked with its members at the event, where all agreed to meet up again as soon as their schedules permitted. Over the course of the following autumn, the band and the designer met up repeatedly, and Kasabian’s songwriter and guitarist Sergio Pizzorno and Throup started plotting an approach to combine powerful visuals with the band’s following album (Velociraptor!).
His most recent video that he directed is 'eez-eh' by Kasabian which involves the band in a studio for part of it and then in a ware house in another. We have taken part inspiration from this as it has two settings and because one is being a studio and another is a different dynamic place it is quite a similar style we are going for.
